Dr. Peterson believes in the effectiveness of using custom made whitening trays at home. The initial cost of whitening is mostly the trays. Once you have custom trays additional whitening treatments are very affordable - often less than $40. Dr. Peterson makes custom trays to hold the whitening product that you will use to whiten your teeth at home.

Colgate Visible White is the only professional whitening system by Colgate. It is available in hydrogen peroxide concentrations of 5%, 7% and 9%. The 9% concentration will provide the best results and is equivalent to 30% carbamide peroxide. This system requires custom fabricated bleaching trays.

How do whitening trays work?
Patients use bleaching trays at home. To start, Dr. Peterson will take impressions of your teeth. The bleaching gel is placed into the trays and fitted over your teeth. It is worn for 30 minutes a day for 3-14 days.
